Buy IOTX Tokens

If you are an investors interested in purchasing the IoTeX (IOTX) token, in this document we aim to provide you with a clear and detailed overview of all available options for acquiring IOTX. Here, you'll find insights about each option, ensuring you can make an informed decision.

Buy on Centralised Exchanges (CEXs)

IOTX, the native token of the IoTeX Blockchain, is a cryptocurrency token that can be bought on various cryptocurrency exchanges. It be found on exchanges such as:

Exchange
Network
Description

Native Token on IoTeX

One of the largest and most popular cryptocurrency exchanges. Not available for US Residents

ERC20 Token on Ethereum

Native Token on IoTeX

Known for its extensive range of services including a cryptocurrency exchange, wallet, and more

Native Token on IoTeX

A global exchange offering a variety of cryptocurrencies.

Native Token on IoTeX

Offers a wide range of cryptocurrencies and is known for listing newer tokens.

Native tToken on IoTeX

Another exchange with a wide selection of cryptocurrencies.

Please note that the availability of IOTX on these exchanges could have changed since when this documentation was created. Always ensure that the exchange you choose is reputable and offers the necessary security measures to protect your funds. Additionally, when choosing an exchange make sure to consider factors like withdrawal fees, withdrawal limits, and the user interface of the exchange.

Buy on decentralized Exchanges (DEXs)

In addition to centralised exchanges, decentralised Exchanges are also a popular choice for trading cryptocurrencies like IoTeX (IOTX). You may find the IOTX token on DEXs that operate on the networks compatible with IoTeX. Some popular DEX options include:

Exchange
Network
Description

Native Token on IoTeX

A DEX on the IoTeX blockchain. It provides features like token swapping and liquidity mining. Being on the IoTeX network, it's particularly relevant for those looking to trade the native IoTeX token (IOTX) and other tokens on the IoTeX blockchain.

ERC20 Token on Ethereum

One of the largest Ethereum-based DEXs, known for its liquidity pools. (Note: if you buy IOTX tokens here, they will be on the Ethereum network. If you want to use them to stake, you will have to swap them for the native token on the IoTeX blockchain.)

The availability of IOTX on these DEXs can change, so it's important to check their current listings. Also, when using DEXs, be cautious and ensure you're interacting with the legitimate smart contract of the token to avoid scams. DEXs require a bit more understanding of blockchain technology and wallet management, so if you're new to this, it might be helpful to do some research or seek advice from more experienced users.

Buying with a Credit Card

Users have the option to purchase directly using a debit or credit card on Mimo DEX. This feature is integrated within the ioPay app, providing a streamlined process for transactions. It allows for a straightforward purchasing experience without the necessity to leave the app or use additional external platforms.

You need the IOTX Native Token to Stake

Please be aware that for the purpose of staking, you will need the Native IOTX token (i.e., on the IoTeX Network). Any synthetic or mirrored versions of the IOTX token on different blockchains, including the IOTX ERC20 token on Ethereum, will not be suitable for this purpose. If you own these tokens, you will need to exchange them for the Native IOTX Token on the IoTeX Network to achieve the full benefits of using the IOTX token.

About the IOTX ERC20 Token

Most of the IOTX token supply is allocated to the IoTeX Blockchain in the form of the so-called IOTX Native token. A smaller portion still resides on the Ethereum blockchain as the IOTX ERC20 Token. This allocation dates back to when the IoTeX Blockchain was still in development. These tokens can be swapped for the IOTX Native token at any time using the ioTube Bridge.
